are you 'ecologically bored'?

I was first introduced to the concept of 'rewilding' when I was alone, in pain, and afraid of what was next. But I was committed to showing up for whatever "it" was - every day.

On this particular day, I remember feeling resistant to journaling but still wanting to honor my commitment to leaning into growth.

I stared down at the TED app on my phone, and searched the world "wild".

The title of this talk instantly caught my eye:

"For more wonder, rewild the world."

Ooooohhh.... something about the world 'rewild' sank deep into my spirit.
I was already hooked.

I emerged from my reflection that day with a different kind of resolve.
I knew what I wanted to create in my world,
and for once I knew it was possible.

If you haven't seen this TED talk by George Monbiot, I highly recommend you take the time to watch it. I have highlighted below the 7-ish minutes that capture the example that felt the most powerful and pivotal for me - the story of what happened at Yellowstone National Park when they reintroduced the wolves.

My favorite part: the wolves even changed
the behavior of the rivers! 😮

In this excerpt from his TED talk, "For more wonder, rewild the world", George Monbiot tells the powerful story of the trophic cascade that rewilded Yellowstone National Park in the 1990s. Rewilding tells us a story of hope.
